Then he saw<br \/>\nan\u00a0envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed<br \/>\nto\u00a0&#8220;Dad&#8221;.\u00a0With the worst premonition he opened the envelope with\u00a0trembling hands\u00a0and read the letter.<\/p>\n<p>Dear Dad:<\/p>\n<p>It is with great regret and sorrow that I&#8217;m writing\u00a0you. I had to\u00a0elope with my new girlfriend<br \/>\nbecause I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom\u00a0and you. I have been finding<br \/>\nreal passion with Stacy and\u00a0she is so nice.\u00a0 But I knew you<br \/>\nwould not approve of her because of all her\u00a0piercing&#8217;s, tattoos, tight<br \/>\nmotorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older\u00a0than I am.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s not only the passion&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Dad she&#8217;s\u00a0pregnant.\u00a0\u00a0Stacy said that we will be very happy.<\/p>\n<p>She owns a trailer\u00a0in the woods and has a stack of firewood<br \/>\nfor the whole winter. We share\u00a0a dream of\u00a0having many more children.<\/p>\n<p>Stacy has opened my eyes to the\u00a0fact that\u00a0marijuana<br \/>\ndoesn&#8217;t really hurt anyone. We&#8217;ll be growing it\u00a0for ourselves\u00a0and<br \/>\ntrading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine<br \/>\nand\u00a0ecstasy. In the meantime we will pray that science<br \/>\nwill\u00a0 find a cure for\u00a0AIDS so that Stacy can get better.<br \/>\nShe deserves it.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t worry Dad. I&#8217;m 15, and I know how to take care<br \/>\nof\u00a0 myself. Someday\u00a0I&#8217;m sure that we will be back to visit so<br \/>\nthat you can get\u00a0to know your\u00a0grandchildren.<br \/>\nLove,<\/p>\n<p>Your Son, John<\/p>\n<p>PS.
